What is Coffee with the Counselor?
Each quarter, I will host a morning or afternoon coffee for parents on a topic that is relevant to elementary school. This gives me the opportunity to meet with many parents at once to discuss how to help their children be successful. All parents are welcome to attend these meetings, which last about an hour. Typically, we will do a short presentation and distribute some handouts; then leave plenty of time for questions! One of the biggest benefits from having these meetings is that parents see that they are not alone in having questions about how to navigate through their child's elementary school years! The meeting dates and topics will be announced on this webpage and via the Summersill Newsletter.
What if I cannot attend the coffee, but want the information?
We understand that the life of a parent is very busy and that some circumstances prevent you for being able to make it to every meeting. While it doesn't include all the questions and discussion from the actual meeting, I’ll post any presentation and the handouts on this website afterwards. I am happy to talk to parents over the phone about the topic, as well.
How topics and times are decided:
In order to be sure I am covering topics relevant to you as parents, I am asking that you fill out the survey linked above. Your feedback is essential!
